A few weeks ago we attended the TNR Trust Dinner & Show at the Tribe Hotel in Gigiri. The event was a fundraiser for TNR Trust Nairobi, specifically to support their work with Kenya’s stray dogs and cats and community outreach. Between the dinner ticket sales and raffles sales, the event was a huge success.
The evening featured performances by Sitawa Namwalie and Alya Kassam. Also performing were musicians Willy Munga Mbaji and Boaz Otieno. I have to say, I am not a big poetry person. I enjoyed the first half of the performance (before dinner). After dinner, during the second half of the performance, we mingled with others at the dinner.
That gave us a chance to meet and talk to some of the other people who helped Oreo. We met Laila, who rescued her from the street. We also met Gaynor, Oreo’s first foster mom. It was so nice to meet them and to hear stories of Oreo’s first days after her rescue.
All in all it was a really fun night!
I’ve had a few posts that mention TNR Trust. I promise a post with more information about them is coming soon!
