One really fun dive site in Le Morne is the Hoi Soing. We dove it twice. Once we had the wreck all to ourselves and the second time we dove with a group of divers. Here is video from both dives. The main purpose of our trip to Mauritius was for scuba diving. How did we like it? Well…it’s hard to say. We enjoyed the trip. We had fun on the dives. However, we were a bit underwhelmed. We expected more. I did a good amount of research and what I was able to find led me to believe that: The reefs were in great condition and not bleached out, as they are in the Maldives. The Le Morne area was the best for diving in Mauritius. The reefs, although healthy, were very bleached out. It was very similar to the Maldives that way. I don’t know if most of the Indian Ocean is like this. (Diani did not seem bleached.) If anyone has any information on this, please contact me. The area around Le Morne was all right. The reefs were as I described. There wasn’t as much marine life as I thought. I don’t know. Maybe the timing was off. I know the peak season is December, but late October is meant to be …
