Zanzibar

About three-and-a-half years ago we went to Zanzibar. It was right after a week-long safari and we were really tired. We didn’t make it off the beach. We recently went back and I am happy to say that, while we had a good amount of beach time, we made it into Stone Town. However, Stone Town will be saved for another post. Now, I want to talk beach.

After Diani, I am spoiled. The beach wasn’t as nice as Diani. But, it was still a lovely beach and the water was amazing. It was as nice as I had remembered from last time.

Here are some photos from our time spent lazing about, splashing around, and watching the dhows (among other things) go by.

There were tons of guys ready to take tourists out on sailboats.

Waiting for tourists…no, we didn’t go for a ride.

Not a sailboat – a boat with various items for the local market.

What’s that coming along?

Oh, just a Maasai with his cattle, walking along the beach.

Lastly, here’s a short clip of what I saw while lazing about.
