Several years ago, before we knew we’d be moving to Nairobi, I decided that I wanted to celebrate my 40th birthday on a safari. The idea was to go on a proper safari and also get a chance to see J.’s Kenya. Because we were worried about potential election violence, we wound up going to Tanzania.
I didn’t get to see Kenya, but I still got a fantastic safari. We went to Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park. We saw the Big Five and much more. It was an amazing experience and a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday.
Now, we’re living in Kenya. And, we just went on safari for J.’s 45th birthday. I’ll have a couple posts and some pictures and video for that soon. In the meantime, here’s a throwback to my first safari.
