The Champagne bar was really nice: excellent service, nice view (even with all construction going on in Westlands), rooftop but with indoor and outdoor options so you can enjoy the view without getting cold, and excellent drinks.
Some photos of the bar entrance taken with my iPhone below.
Graze was good but not excellent. The overall experience was great, really great. I’d give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The half star is held back because of…well…the steak. We ordered their nicest cut, cooked rare. The meat was tender and juicy. But, it lacked flavor.
I think the cut of beef itself was really good, but they probably didn’t season it at all. Or something. I don’t know. I can’t figure it out. The best guess I have is that their audience prefers sauces on their steaks and so they keep the meat bland.
I prefer a steak that only needs a touch of salt and maybe a little butter. That said, with the garlic butter we ordered on the side, the steak was great. It’s just that I had expected it to stand strong on its own.
Again, overall, the experience was good. All our other food was great. The wine was amazing. (They have a really nice wine list, by the way.) The dessert was heaven.
I would definitely go back, but I’d get extra garlic butter.
It was a fun night and great birthday outing.
