The Aero Club of East Africa

Aero Club of East Africa

We did another fun thing this past weekend. After our visit to the Giraffe Center, we went to the Aero Club of East Africa for lunch. It was a nice trip down memory lane for J., who took his first flying lessons many years ago at Pegasus Flyers right next to the club.

Entrees named after famous pilots.

The club is at the Wilson Airport, near Nairobi National Park. It’s a private club, but it does open to the public for lunch on weekends (maybe also weekdays?). Lunch was very good as was the service, and the aviation theme is fun.

Neither one of us got any of the entrees shown here. But we were both very happy with our meals. I got the Phoenix (a burger named after a famous carrier). J. got…I can’t remember the name. It was fish and chips and quite delicious.

The grounds are small but pretty. They have a little play area for kids. The best part was watching planes land and take off from the runway. We saw a helicopter come in too.

It was a nice way to end a great morning.
